HVAC is one of the most valued industries because of the immense skill it takes to work on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Many people underestimate the training and knowledge that HVAC technicians undergo yet millions of American homes need these technicians every day.

In addition to the intricate systems that were already in place, HVAC has grown with technology and has integrated more advanced parts. Technicians that train in computer applications and receive the most up to date education on these systems will experience great rewards in return.

Day in the Life of an HVAC Technician

You walk into the office and immediately you’re handed a slip of paper with a phone number and an address on it. You work as an HVAC technician at a contracting company and the day is just starting. Looking down at the paper you see that a large office a few blocks away has lost an entire floor of air conditioning.

You arrive at the front desk and a sweeping glance across the floor shows you the chaos the office has endured in the last few hours. Men and women wipe the sweat from their brow and greedily guzzle water while fanning themselves with their hands. The secretary shows you to room where all of the ventilation controls are. She hands you a dusty blueprint and leaves, allowing you to get to work.
